EARLY "ELECTRIC" PLAYBACK
(1921)

 1921 TONE-A-PHONE electrical record playback attachment

In the early 1920s, several companies marketed "electric" attachments
consisting of telephone receivers attached to acoustic reproducers and
wired to play through radio sets. True electrical playback, via
magnetic pickups, would not be introduced commercially
until the later 1920s.
