RACY RECORDS (1936) Racy Records was one of the earliest "adult" or "party" labels. Despite its provocative appearance, it featured material that is only mildly risqué by modern standards. This short-lived label is fairly rare today. Racy Records were produced by the Radio Transcription Company of America, Ltd. (1509 North Vine Street, Hollywood, California) and marketed by Hollywood Specialty Recordings, of the same address. Pressings appear to be the work of the American Record Corporation's Hollywood plant, Columbia's former West Coast factory.
