The following checklist — which lists all verified Murray records appearing on labels produced or marketed by the American Record Company (Hawthorne, Sheble & Prescott) — is presented as an aid to collectors attempting to complete their Murray collections, and also in the hopes that collectors can fill in any missing numbers. This list is in the public domain and may be freely reproduced and distributed without permission for the benefit of the collecting community.

Much documentation has recently been located concerning the highly convoluted history of the American Record Company, Hawthorne & Sheble, and Hawthorne, Sheble & Prescott, and their links to other companies. This will result in some significant changes to this very preliminary checklist, with full details to appear in our upcoming Murray discography, and in the new expanded edition of American Records Labels & Companies coming later this year from Mainspring Press.

We have full discographic data for most of the records listed here, but we would appreciate an e-mail from anyone who owns verifiable Murray items, on these or other labels, that are not listed here. Please do not send data from hobbyist Murray websites, which contain errors copied from unreliable secondary sources.

Our thanks to the many thoughtful contributors to Mainspring Online Discography Project, who have already added so much information to this checklist!

Use of the "0" prefix is not consistent from this point forward, particularly on the latter issues.
