The Victor Discography Series

John R. Bolig
Winner of the 2010 ARSC
Lifetime Achievement Award

“Significant contributions to discographic research... invaluable to sound archives, researchers,
and serious collectors.” — Notes (Journal of the Music Library Association)

“What distinguishes this discography is that the information originates entirely from original sources.
John Bolig continues to raise the bar, setting new  standards in discographical work.”
The Record Collector (UK)

The Victor Discography Series is an ongoing project documenting the entire output of the Victor Talking Machine Company, using data from the original Victor, RCA, and Gramophone Company files.

Each volume includes highly detailed discographical information, most of it previously unpublished — including matrix and take numbers, dubbing details, recording dates and locations, conductors and accompanists, artist pseudonyms, corresponding foreign issues, release and deletion dates, medley contents,
and more. Also included are full composer and show credits, illustrated historical introductions, and artist and title indexes.

Six volumes have been published to date, and additional volumes are in development for release during 2011–2013.
