THE
VICTOR RECORD
DISCOGRAPHY SERIES
An
ongoing discographic project documenting the complete
Victor Talking Machine Company catalog
Mainspring's Victor Discography Series will document the entire Victor Talking Machine Co. catalog. Each volume is compiled from the original Victor files Sony/BMG Archives, carefully correlated with Gramophone Co. data and the original catalogs and discs. Three volumes are currently in print, with additional volumes in production or under development for release at regular intervals.
Compiled
and annotated by noted author and Victor researcher John Bolig, each volume
includes matrix and take numbers, all 78-format issues (US and foreign),
recording dates and locations, dubbing dates, release dates, duration in catalog, accompanists
and conductors, and other discographic detail.
Each
volume is arranged by catalog number for ease of use, and include matrix number,
artist, and title indexes for quick location of any record in the text. Unlike earlier works, these volumes will cover all records issued under the Victor Talking Machine Co. imprint, including export issues and issues from foreign masters that do not appear in those works.
